The “Soft Focus” feature in Picasa is also a very important option to learn. Just like every feature in Picasa, every one of them has its importance, but this one basically enhances the look of the image directly (without using any other options). The “Soft Focus” option will definitely increase the visual aspect of the image, while not distorting it in any way, shape, or form. First, please go to your Picasa program on your computer and double click it. Wait for it to load up and move onto the next step.
Once you have loaded up the Picasa program, you will see all of your images in your database. Please browse through all of the images until you have found the one you want to completely enhance. There are ways where you can enhance more than one at a time, but this tutorial is only going to enhance ONE image, so please follow these directions in order to do so. Once you have chosen the image you want to enhance, you will see a blue rectangle around the image selected. Please move onto the next step.
You will see the “Basic Fixes” screen once you have selected your image and double clicked it. Please move over to the left side of the window, next to your image, and click the “Effects” tab. As we have seen before in previous tutorials, you will notice that there is a “Soft Focus” option. Click it, it will be the 8th one down. If you want to make your image a lot sharper, just keep on clicking the “Soft Focus” button until you have the image set where you want it, if you have went too far, click the “Undo Film Grain” button until you have set it where you have want it.
