Creating Image Effects in Picasa is very easy, we’ve already went through all of the basics on how to use the “Basic Fixes” option, but now we will use it again for yet another feature that Picasa has to offer. First things first, please open the Picasa software and wait for it to load up. Once everything is all loaded up, you will be welcomed by all of your images in your database. The process is starting to become very easy now that we have been doing it over and over now. But anyway, move onto the next step.
Once you have chosen your image(s), since we will only be talking about one, please only choose one. You will see a blue rectangular highlight around your image once you have chosen it, so double click the one you want. After a couple of moments, you will see a new window pop up, this will be the “Basic Fixes” window, which is a very common window in Picasa. Please locate the “Effects” tab to the left of your image and click it.
The screen will change once you have clicked the “Effects” tab and you will see many different options from which you can choose from. There really isn’t a “right” way to choose an option for your image, whichever one you’d like is really up to you. I would recommend starting with sharpen, sepia, and b&w options as these are the most basic. We have gone over these features earlier in our other tutorials, but this is a more outlined view of what they all do for your images.
Once you have figured out which option(s) you want, you can double click the option and your picture will return back to the original screen. Once it is saved though, it’s whatever image it currently is in your database. Enjoy!
